WARN ACT DATABASE — Data Updated Daily

About LayoffAlert.org

LayoffAlert.org is an independent, non-governmental database that aggregates and tracks WARN Act (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notices from state labor departments across the United States.

Our Mission

The WARN Act requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60-day advance notice of plant closings and mass layoffs. While this information is public, it's often scattered across individual state websites in different formats.

We aggregate this data into a single, searchable database to help:

  • Workers stay informed about layoffs in their industry and region
  • Job seekers understand the employment landscape
  • Researchers and journalists analyze employment trends
  • Communities prepare for economic changes

Current Coverage

We currently track WARN Act notices from 13 states, with 6,531 notices affecting 721,589 employees in our database.

Data is updated daily through automated collection from official state labor department sources.

Data Sources

All data on LayoffAlert.org comes from official state labor department filings. We collect this information directly from government sources and present it in a unified format for easier access and analysis.

For the most up-to-date and authoritative information, we encourage users to verify data with their respective state's Department of Labor.
